Student Project
It can be hard for those with sight to comprehend the difficulties that come with daily life for those who cannot see. Unfortunately, not everything is available in braille or audio formats, and sometimes there is no one around to help. However, being blind or visually impaired does not mean individuals have to sacrifice their independence or things they enjoy doing. O&M stores cater to this unique customer base by providing a welcoming environment that is easy to navigate. Our team created four specific brands to improve the shopping experience for blind and visually impaired individuals: grocery, apparel, pharmacy, and bath products.
As part of this project, our team created four product lines designed to assist the blind and make sure that the visually impaired can also enjoy the beauty of color and design. The challenge we faced from that was to create a balance between them and suitable products for both customer bases.
Clean typefaces were used to increase the legibility of the content and avoid any unnecessary confusion. Tactile labeling was also incorporated on products to further enhance their readability. We also included a QR code on every product that gives customers access to all the details in audio format. The overall packaging design aimed to present an inviting appearance while being practical and accessible.
